What a 2020 – A year to remember or try to forget !
It was very unfortunate that we could not host our annual meeting in 2020 due to Covid-19. The Minister overseeing organizations such as ours, declared a bye to the clause in most organization constitutions, that require the hosting of an Annual General Meeting in 2020. The 2019 board members agreed to carry on for an additional year.
We plan to return to our annual meeting format in 2021. The board has been meeting regularly by zoom this past year. The Zoom platform works and does provide the opportunity to host a large AGM meeting which we will employ on April 8th. Please join us at 6:45 PM.
We have prepared all the required reports as we did on 2020. The relevant reports can be found and downloaded from the member section of our web site as noted below.
These reports include: 2021 Meeting Agenda, 2019 Minutes, 2019 Financial Report, 2020 Financial Report, 2021 Proposed Budget, TI with proposed changes, 2019 / 2020 Presidents Report, Proxy (if you can’t make the meeting and would like someone to represent your interests).
Just a reminder that if you have trouble gaining entry to the web site, try your first initial and last name as the required user name and password. Please personalize your password ASAP.
The actual zoom meeting invitation will be sent out in 2 weeks. At that time, you will be asked to register if you plan to attend. This is necessary in order to put everyone into the appropriate break out rooms to participate in the gate elections at the beginning of the meeting.
Please consider putting your name forward to be a gate rep for the upcoming year.
A little background: The board meetings usually last about 3 hours on a Saturday. There are about 6 board meetings a year. As well, there is some committee work and email discussions on standing matters. In order to run, a shareholder should be in ‘good standing’ with regard to their LLE accounts. We have had very strong boards and the work is rewarding.
